October 25>

エコ・ミッションが訪れたのは、フランスとの国境地帯を流れるRheins(ライン)川のIffezheim(イヘッツハイム)という所でした。

ドイツ西部のKarlsruhe(カールスルーヘ)とStrasbourg(ストラスブール)というライン川とともに栄えるふたつの街の間にあり、上流のGambsheim(ガムスハイム)にあるもう一つの“魚道”と合わせて、魚たちにとっての重要なハイウェイとなりました。

The greatest “Fish Path” in Europe!:

Those who like fishing might have heard of or known a word “fish path”. This is a kind of waterway with stairs developed for fish by people to allow them move about that have been excluded from main stream of Rheins river due to dams created in it.

Today we visited a large path in Iffezheim that is located between two prosperous towns with Rheins river: one is Karlsruhe in Germany and the other is Strasbourg in France. Supported by another fish path in Gambsheim, which is in upper stream of the river, Iffezheim path is regarded important “highway” for fish here.
